The League of Women Voters of Greater Rockford presented an art exhibition at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4848 Turner Street, in Rockford, Saturday, March 7. The exhibit featured “Heroes of American Women’s Right to Vote,” a seven-panel portrait of five suffragists and two others who were instrumental in the women’s struggle for the right to vote. The paintings were painted by Rockford artist and League member, Janie Wilson-Cook. The exhibit will be displayed at several locations locally and in other locations, when Illinois shelter-in-place regulations are rescinded. Stay tuned.
