The Human Cost of Gun Violence in the Rockford Region:
How Can WE help those working on the problem?
LWVGR Gun Violence Prevention Committee Chair Jo Minor encourages community members to attend and become part of the solution. “With the assistance of mental health professionals, the audience will brainstorm concrete actions we can do as a community to bring this epidemic under control.”
This is the third in a series aimed to create an awareness of existing programs
and how together we can help to end the cycle of violence.
Panelists include:
Dr. Ammar Ahmed from Rockford Memorial Health Systems and
Mercy Health Systems Emergency Departments,
Joshua Patterson from Community Solutions,
Rockford Police Chief Carla Redd,
plus a gun violence survivor and other mental health experts.
Everyone can play a part in stopping the gun violence.
