The League of Women Voters of Greater Rockford, a non-partisan organization more than 100 years old, along with AAUW, Eliminate Racism 815, AKA Sorority, Rockford Public Library, Rockton/Roscoe News, ACLU, Harlem High School Student Council, WNIJ Northern Public Radio, The Boone County Journal and the Belvidere North High School Student Voice Club are pleased to invite you to participate in these LWVGR Fall 2024 Candidate Meet & Greets. There are a series of five (5) Meet & Greets scheduled.
Important discussion topics on voting system integrity, referenda, immigration, and the preservation of democracy will be presented in addition to meeting candidates. Although most races will not be competitive, we see the Candidate Meet & Greets as a great opportunity for citizens to get to know the candidates who will be in office – understand their priorities and share your priorities and concerns with them – let them hear your voice. Please start spreading the word and encouraging others to participate.
